Big Ideas, Real Impact

SomaVia 500HR Curriculum

What began as a personal path to self discovery and embodiment has evolved into something more. I am proud of where this training has been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets it apart isn’t just the process—it’s the intention behind it. This training is aimed at nothing less then your own personal self discovery of deep purpose and meaning in an ever chaotic world.

In a culture that maintains control through disconnection and isolation, reclaiming your inner knowledge is a radical act of resistance.

SomaVia 500 — The Path of Embodied Consciousness

A progressive journey of structure, energy, awareness, and service.

PHASE I — The Path of the Embodied Architect (200 Hours)

Build structure. Learn the craft. Establish integrity.

Intensive Module Overview

The first five intensives establish foundational competencies in embodied movement, nervous system literacy, contemplative practice, and professional teaching fundamentals. These modules develop awareness, structural integrity, and teaching skill required for advanced therapeutic study.

Intensive 1 —  The Architect - Structural Flow

Build the body. Design the practice.

Description: Embodiment Foundations & Yogic Frameworks; An Orientation to Practice, Awareness, and Transformation. Students learn to organize yoga practice around joint integrity, intelligent sequencing, and the functional application of bandha. Using a single stable flow (Chandra Namaskar), trainees develop clarity, simplicity, and creative authorship in sequencing rather than reliance on prescribed forms. A philosophical discussion of transformation vs education, the history of Hatha Yoga and the purpose and orientation of practice begin.

Intensive 2 — The Alchemist - Spinal Integration

Refine force into intelligence.

Description: Investigate Structural Foundations & Classical Forms; closed-hip postures become a laboratory for understanding spinal anatomy, spiraling actions, and opposing forces that generate stability and energetic transformation. Students develop breath–movement matching through biomechanical awareness and internal energetic direction. A philosophical discussion of the first chapter of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali begins.

Intensive 3 — The Guardian - Adaptive Presence

Hold space. Guide awareness.

Description:
Relational Teaching and Attention Training; Open-hip postures and trauma-aware adjustment principles cultivate relational awareness and skillful touch. Concentration practices and instrument-based meditation establish the foundations of attention and deepen the capacity to teach with clarity and care. A philosophical discussion of the second chapter of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali begins.

Intensive 4 — The Steward - Applied Yoga Systems

Serve the practice. Serve the world.

Description:
Yoga in culture, service and profession; Students explore diverse styles of yoga and learn to adapt teaching for varied populations and contexts. The ethics, business, and service dimensions of yoga establish responsible leadership and community care. A philosophical discussion of action, dharma, karma and wisdom begins with a deep study of the Bhagavad Gita.

Intensive 5 — The Weaver - Teaching Integration

Demonstration of Foundational Competency

Description:
This capstone of the foundational path integrates asana, breath, and meditation into cohesive teaching. Students refine their voice and demonstrate competency through guided teaching experiences.

Phase 1 Outcomes (Foundation Level)

Students completing the first five intensives demonstrate:

  • safe teaching of foundational yoga practices

  • basic movement literacy and structural awareness

  • breath and meditation instruction competency

  • trauma-aware communication

  • understanding of yoga’s philosophical framework

  • readiness for advanced therapeutic training

PHASE II — The Path of the Inner Alchemist

Therapeutic Application & Professional Integration (300 Hours)

Transform the system. Work with energy. Awaken deeper perception.

Intensive Module Overview

Phase 2 develops advanced teaching capacity, therapeutic application, and professional integration. Students learn to assess movement and energetic patterns, apply regulatory practices, design targeted interventions, and integrate movement, breath, and awareness into responsive teaching.

These modules build directly on Phase 1 competencies and emphasize discernment, relational presence, and professional responsibility.

Intensive 6 — The Harmonizer - Elemental Balance

Restore balance through elemental wisdom

Description: Individualization and Adaptive Teaching, Constitutional Assessment & Therapeutic Prescription; Students assess constitutional patterns and apply elemental principles to guide therapeutic practice. Teaching becomes increasingly individualized through understanding the layered nature of the human system. Ayurvedic Dosha Assessment and an understanding of the 5 techniques of Hatha Yoga is achieved. A philosophical discussion of the Gunas begins.

Intensive 7 — The Catalyst - Fascial Intelligence

Ignite the body’s living network.

Description:
Structural Integration and Therapeutic Observation; Students investigate fascia as the body’s integrative matrix and explore developmental movement through evolutionary sequencing. Functional movement screening and deep core organization reveal the body as a dynamic field of communication, adaptation, and transformation. A philosophical discussion of fascia as the location for our life force begins

Intensive 8 — The Regulator - Pranic Regulation

Direct the currents of life force.

Description:
Energetic Regulation and State CHange; Breath becomes a tool for nervous system regulation and energetic transformation through the study of Brahmana and Langhana practices, the vayus, and the principles of vital force. Students learn to teach breath as both physiological and energetic medicine. A philosophical discussion of what it means to breath begins

Intensive 9 — Somatic Awakening — The Mystic

Awaken the inner field of perception.

Description:
Explicit somatic practices and insight meditation cultivate subtle awareness of sensation and internal experience. The subtle body is explored as a framework for deepening self-knowledge and embodied presence. A philosophical conversation of the fractal nature of the naturel world and our place in it as human beings begins.

Intensive 10 — The Devotee - Devotional Practice

Enter the path of ritual and reverence.

Description:
Embodied beyond technique; This module explores devotion, ritual, and contemplative traditions across cultures as vehicles for meaning, connection, and transformation. Practice is understood as relationship—to self, community, and the sacred. A philosophical conversation on the heart of Yoga begins.

Phase 2 Outcomes (Advanced Level)

Students completing Phase 2 demonstrate:

  • movement assessment and adaptation skills

  • advanced nervous system regulation teaching

  • therapeutic sequencing ability

  • individualized practice design

  • integration of philosophy and science

  • professional discernment and ethical application

  • capacity for independent program design

PHASE III — The Path of the Embodied Guide

Integrate mastery. Practice as medicine. Teach as service.

Intensive 11 — The Healer - Therapeutic Design

Design practice as medicine.

Description:
Students synthesize the SomaVia methodology by creating functional, therapeutic practices for specific conditions or populations. Through assessment, design, and teaching, trainees demonstrate the capacity to deliver yoga as an integrated system of healing.
